Aden: Seized container with 'Glock' pistols

FNA -03.11.12 - Authorities at the port of Aden seized a container loaded with 'Glock' pistols originating in Turkey Saturday afternoon.
Sources in Aden Port said the container, registered to a fictitious dealer, was discovered during routine inspection where approximately three thousand pieces (pistols) were found hidden inside chocolate boxes.
Sources indicated that a person tried to offer YR3 million to allow the shipment to pass.
A source close to the General People's Congress (GPC) said preliminary information indicates the container belongs to a sheikh, opponent of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
Arms dealers estimated cost of each unit ceased at a piece around YR500,000 (US$2,300).
